Should Your Club Be Square To The Ground At Address?

If, at address, you try to square your club (your club’s lie angle) to the ground, then join those of us who have been setting up incorrectly. This is one of those tips that requires a knowledge of golf science to explain the correct way to set your club’s lie at address. And, as with most things in golf, the correct way is counter intuitive.

When you set the club’s lie incorrectly at address, it causes problems in your backswing which, in turn, decreases the probability that your lie will be square at impact. In this video Derek Hooper demonstrates the correct way to set your club’s lie angle at address.
